A Quick Rundown Through What the Sony Xperia 5 IV Has To Offer

The Sony Xperia 5 IV is Sony’s latest flagship smartphone, and it is one of the most compact Android flagships on the market. We’ve had the phone prior to its premiere, and we’ve completed its full review. And while it may be a major spoiler, we can already share that this Sony Xperia 5 IV is an outstanding device that delivers in buckets!

That being said, let’s delve deeper into what the Sony Xperia 5 IV has to offer to the table:

1. The Aesthetics

Sony Xperia 5 IV

Looks-wise, you’ll get a familiar phone. The Sony Xperia 5 IV looks much like all the recent Xperia phones that have come out. It offers the simplicity and straightforwardness that everyone loves so much, paired with flat matt panels that are built out of Gorilla Glass Victus. Along with that, a flat metal frame with a matt finish is also present. And, water and dust resistance-wise, it’s just as great as the other Xperia phones.

2. The Screen

As for the screen, you’ll find the notch-less 6.1-inch OLED screen, and as you may be well aware, it is a stunning screen to behold. It packs in 1B colours along with HDR content support, much like the Xperia 5 III. In addition to all of that, it offers a 120Hz refresh rate with 4k resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio. This makes it a tall and majestic phone indeed. Also, you get 50% more brightness than the Xperia 5 III. This will make it even more usable in bright environments, such as outside and under the sun.

3. The Chipset

Of course, for many of us, a phone’s true offering lies in its chipset. A good chipset is what makes or breaks a phone, after all. So, what can you find in the Xperia 5 IV? Well, you get the SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Get 1 chip, which is a 4-nanometer chip. This chip is an octa-core chip paired with the Adreno 730, ensuring you get maximum performance for your high-demand applications.

4. The Camera

If you’re buying a phone for its excellent camera, you’re in luck! This new Xperia phone has three of its four cameras borrowed from the Xperia 1 IV camera phone. These include the 12MP selfie camera (Sony IMX663) and two of the three rear shooters. The primary camera on the back uses a 12MP Sony IMX 557 imager with large 1.8µm pixels, a 24mm OIS lens, and PDAF. Another Sony IMX 563 imager with a 16mm ultra wide-angle lens and autofocus is also used for close up shots.

5. The Battery

A battery is just as important as any part of the phone. After all, if it is small, you won’t be able to use it as often. Fortunately, this phone packs a 5000mAh battery that can be charged with 30W fast USB power delivery charging. With this, you can get 50% in just about 30 minutes of charging. Also, you get wireless charging.

6. Other Features

There are a ton of other features that the phone offers, such as the side-mounted fingerprint reader, NFC, stereo speakers, and so much more. In fact, if you’re looking for a phone that still has a 3.5mm jack, Sony still offers it in their Xperia 5 IV!

Conclusion

All in all, this phone does offer some amazing things. Of course, this is to be expected from a flagship phone. But of course, there are still many other flagships out there that you should consider. After all, while the Xperia 5 IV is excellent, it still lacks some things that you may want from a phone. Either way, feel free to check out Sony’s line of beautiful phones and pick one that you feel meets your needs the best!
