Sony’s Xperia 10 IV is the latest mid-range phone from the company, with an all-screen design and an affordable price tag, perfect for fans of the Xperia line. Here’s everything you need to know about the Sony Xperia 10 IV.
Sony Xperia 10 IV Release Date
Sony has confirmed through its official Xperia account on Twitter that the Xperia 10 IV will go on sale in mid-June, with no specific date announced.
The company told Tech Advisor, a digital technology news service, that the flagship Xperia 1 IV will be available from 16 June. The company did not share a specific release date for the Xperia 10 IV, but the 10 IV may also go on sale around that time.
After Sony announced the Xperia Z3+ and then launched it on the market, it’s nice to know that the company has finally listened to its critics. Hopefully, the Xperia Z4 will be available in stores soon.
The Specs of the Sony Xperia 10 IV
Sony’s Xperia X10 IV features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset for 5G networks, the same processor found in the Honor Magic 4 Lite. It pairs that chip with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and microSD card support. It’s also dust and water-resistant. The X10 IV also has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Six inches of 1080×2,520 resolution OLED visuals make up the 6in the OLED display. The 21:9 aspect ratio is similar to many cinematic releases. Sony says the display is 15 per cent brighter than the 10 III. At this price, though, it’s a shame Sony is not offering a 120Hz refresh rate. It seems every midrange TV these days offers 90Hz or 120Hz, but not Sony.
The Sony Xpress has triple cameras featuring 16, 27, and 54-millimetre lenses. Sony has not confirmed the megapixel count of these cameras, but they should provide high-quality photos. In addition, the cameras can handle auto HDR, and Sony claims an improved night mode is in the camera app. The phone also features a big 5,000mAh battery. Because of its midrange specs, this battery should last a long time.
Sony is known for audio, so it shouldn’t be surprising that the Walkman has some neat features related to music. First, Sony’s DSEE Ultimate uses AI to boost the quality of digital music. However, it works only with compatible headphones.
Sony Xperia 10 IV Cost
Sony has said the Xperia 10 IV costs approximately €499/£429 in Europe and the UK, so that is likely the price, but Sony has not yet announced an actual cost. The Sony UK site is listing the price as £429, but this is not yet confirmed.
Here is the pricing of the previous Xperia 10 models:
- Sony Xperia 10 III – £399/€459 (approx $519)
- Sony Xperia 10 II – £319/€379 (approx $419)
- Sony Xperia 10 – £299/€349/$349
Inflation seems to play here, even if the technical improvements are getting incrementally better with each new launch.
Purchasing the Sony Xperia 10 IV
The Xperia X10 IV looks promising and should be a much-needed step up from the Xperia III. However, it doesn’t seem to be revolutionary.
That said, Sony fans will undoubtedly flock to the Xperia X10 IV. After all, it’s a phone that offers excellent design and performance for a low price. If you want a great phone that is affordable but still does almost everything a flagship does, the Sony Xperia 10 IV will be a great choice.
